How the Desks Are Organised
We publish desks rather than personal profiles. Each desk owns a defined part of your journey and is accountable for the part of this site that describes it. Where a specific coordinator is assigned to your trip, you will be introduced to them by name once planning begins — not before, and not as a marketing device.
Itinerary & Experience Design Desk
Designs each signature journey, balancing discovery with comfort and with the cultural protocol that Sumba’s villages expect. This desk also runs partner vetting — which drivers, guesthouses and village hosts we will and will not work with — and the sustainability commitments we make, including our support for local ikat weaving cooperatives. It is the desk behind every Sumba private tour we publish.
Operations & Logistics Desk
Runs the logistics underneath every journey: flights and charters into Tambolaka (TMC) and Waingapu (WGP), vehicle scheduling across sealed, laterite and 4WD-only routes, and the timing that holds an itinerary together when a road or a ferry does not cooperate. It also tracks Indonesian transport and aviation requirements that apply to the ground legs of your trip.

Cultural Guiding — West Sumba
Guiding in West Sumba is done by guides born and raised in the region, who speak the local dialects and can read Marapu lore, ikat symbolism and the social customs behind what you are looking at. That is what turns a megalithic village from a photo stop into something you understand. Guides are briefed on entry protocol for every sacred site we take guests to.
Nature & Adventure Guiding — East Sumba
East Sumba guiding covers the island’s wilder side: the Manupeu Tanah Daru and Laiwangi Wanggameti national parks, the hidden pools below Lapopu Waterfall, and the coastal ecosystems that a careless visit damages. Nature-based activities are run to the access rules the parks set, not around them.
